If you’re looking for ways to get more involved at your school or in the community, C2C is a great place to start! We offer programs and resources for education, health, and character-building. 

All C2C programs are free and focused on strengthening families across Santa Cruz County.

EDUCATION

Kids Programs (School-Based) for learning and positive development!

  • Raising a Reader - A whole-family approach to supporting the literacy development of our children. We will support culturally-rich literacy nights and other opportunities outside of school to support Live Oak students.

  • High-Quality Preschool - Find high-quality, affordable Live Oak preschools with literacy enrichment to help get children ready for kindergarten.

Adult Programs

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes - Learn or improve your English with local ESL classes for adults (free childcare available) 4 days/week.

    • Classes will begin at Live Oak Community Resources beginning in January 2023.

HEALTH

Food, health, exercise and more!

  • Passion for Produce (P4P) - Healthy produce and nutritional workshops FREE for families.

  • Free or Low-Cost Children’s Recreation - C2C helps link families to swim scholarships, inclusive park programs, and soccer.

  • Whole-Family Movement - Free Zumba classes for parents and structured recreation activities for children at Active Family Time on Thursdays at Live Oak Elementary

  • Community Care Team - Does your child need extra support with health or education? This team provides care for high need families through a partnership with Live Oak schools and Santa Cruz Community Health Centers

    • To get started, ask your school principal or healthcare provider about the Community Care Team.

  • Promotora & Community Health Worker Training - C2C partners with Cabrillo College, Santa Cruz Community Health, Santa Cruz County Health Agency and Encompass to design training opportunities for parents to become health educators and navigators.

  • Community Resource Referral - C2C connects families with local partners that can support them with rental assistance, free food, and other services. Learn more.

Character-Building

Supporting healthy relationships in families and in the community!

  • Thrive Outside - Creating safe and inclusive spaces for Shoreline youth in the community with Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz, Live Oak School District, United Way of Santa Cruz County, Flow and Fuerza SC

  • Live Oak Youth Partnership - C2C is beginning expansion to Shoreline Middle School by holding community circles to discuss community strength and addressing community violence.

  • Parenting Support

    • Triple P - Positive Parenting Program - Triple P provides families with a tool kit of proven strategies for strengthening relationships with their children and preventing or managing common parenting challenges, from tantrums to communicating with teens and more.

Community Strength

Uplifting parent voices and celebrating community power!

  • Parent Leadership Committees - Monthly meetings to build community and make plans to support our families. Please find the 22-23 year dates here.

  • Advocacy & Leadership Development - C2C supports parents in raising their voices on important issues impacting their families.

  • PreK Hopes & Dreams - Parents know their children’s potential better than anyone. C2C hosts workshops for PreK families to explore the Hopes & Dreams parents have for their students.

  • Racial Equity Workgroup & Training - All students deserve the opportunity to succeed. C2C’s Racial Equity Workgroup is a team of staff and parents who are focused on addressing racism and promoting equity in Live Oak.
